Larry Shelby
I know I suck...but at least I'm trying...LOL I played all the instruments, and sang all the parts (except the Choir -(East West SC - only VI on here), on this... Not trying to exactly duplicate the original, doin' my own thing, but staying with the original "outline", and I know I don't get in here much... too busy finding deals, so feel free to throw stones! ?

bjornpdx
Larry One of my favorite PF songs and man you did a great job on it. And not just the performance (great!) but also the mixing and mastering, that stuff. I'm super impressed.

Grem
Larry I gotta give it to you on having the balls to do that song!! I NEVER would have even thought about doing it. I mean I know it and play it. But just would never have really actually done it!! I can see how you made it your own, and that was a good choice on your tone in the beginning. And when you cmae in with the vocals, bout floored me!! That's one good performance!! And the backing vocals really adds to the song. What ever you did with that was really good work. Then the lead. Great tone, great performance. I think you kept mostly to the spirit of the song but I can hear your own touch in there too. Which is a good touch on your part. The end was just as good, I was waiting for the piano to start the next song!! Good job.
PhonoBrainer
Shine On you Crazy Diamond. I like how your own rhythms and nuances sneak in. The original version is embedded in my dna, down to the last tom hit. Vocals are outstanding!!!!! You might make the lead vocal a tad louder perhaps. Mix is a thing of beauty.

Canopus
Great job, Larry - true to the original without being a carbon copy. And your vocals are great. The Dark Side of the Moon was actually one of the first albums I ever bought, but now it’s hanging on in quiet desperation among all my other vinyls on the dark side of a cabinet door.

Wookiee
I think you did a good job on this @cclarry What did you use for the roto-toms at the start? The vox could come up a tad but your mix. Nice one thanks for sharing

Nice one thanks for sharing Actual Roto Toms Wook....only thing artificial on this is the Choir, and the clock ticking and alarm clock at the beginning, which are samples I dug up...other than that... all real world...and Thanx guys!
freddy j
I know I'm in a minority but I don't particularly savour PF's musical style. However (let me quickly add), I do listen to them. One certainly has to admire their command of music, skill, and creativity. I think you have done an excellent job in covering this and adding your own touches. Well done and you certainly don't "suck" at what you have produced here.
abacab
Nice work!!! One of my favorite bands. My buddies and I once did a live cover of Money at an open mike in a local bar. Lots of fun! What instruments did you use besides the guitars? Edited July 29, 2019 by abacab

All of them Ab...drums, synth, bass...etc...the only things artificial on the track are the Choir (East West Symphonic Choirs) and the samples of the Clock Ticking and the Alarm Clock at the beginning, which I dug up on the internet, for the intro...I actually recorded most of it a while ago...and came back recently and added the second guitar, and the choir, because it never sounded "full" enough to me... Thanx for the kind words... Gilmour is one of my two heroes....Alex Lifeson is the other!
Larry Shelby
BTW....this was all done in Sonar X3 originally and then the additions were done in CbB just recently....so it's been a work in progress for quite a while. I finally got around to finishing it (for now, because a Mix Engineer is NEVER done LOL)
