How to create automation lanes/tracks that are bound to a groove-clip?

How to create automation tracks that are bound to a groove-clip?

I want the automation lanes bound to the grove-clip not the track the groove-clip is in.

Lanes work at the track/bus level.

Clip automation does not make use of lanes.

So other than rendering it in the audio (first) there's no way to embed panning, volume swells, etc. in a groove clip?

Clip automation data is stored with other information about the clip in the project not in the clip.
