sjoens
Again Windows 11/Intel 12th gen seems to have broken something. I have 32 bit Sonar installed on Windows 11 to open older projects. 32 bit Sonar completely ignores 32 bit SD2 during a scan. Oddly, 64 bit Sonar/CbB picks up 32 bit SD2 and loads it just fine. Jeremy Oakes
So what is the issue ? AFAIA CbB is backwards compatible. J
sjoens
Yes but not all 32 bit plugins work in CbB. Nor do all 32 bit projects function properly in it, thus why I use 32 bit Sonar.
sjoens
After much headache and trial & error I think it works now. I wound up installing 32 & 64 bit Sonar 8 fully on my system and setting all the 32 bit Sonar app Compatibility Modes to Windows 7. So far so good. This could have been avoided if SD2 Kits & Programs could be read by SD3. Why can't they??!?
Glenn Stanton
i installed SD 2 and SD 3 on my CbB - along with a number of older apps for old project compatibility. as far as i know, the SD 3 program files are different and not compatible. the sound files should be ok -- however you probably need to re-map them. but even with those projects that used the SD 2, as long as my project has the MIDI, i just use my AD 2 setup -- much nicer drum VI. sjoens
True, but I just like things to work. Every new turn seems to throw another monkey wrench into the works.
Glenn Stanton
yeah, i've been re-doing a few old (like 2003 old) projects where i liked the overall feel and basically i just kept only the audio and midi. then re-do all the instruments and effects (and perhaps some performance updates ? )
