Updates were coming fast and furious for awhile but it seems like it's been a bit since the last one. Any reason for concern?

How does the future of Cakewalk by Bandlab look to everybody?

It just means some enhancements take longer to implement than others. Beta releases are still happening, so nobody's died or been institutionalized. Plus even Noel gets a day off once in awhile, or so he claims.

The time this update is taking  really has me wondering what the Bakers are adding to CbB.

Anyway CbB does so much now I don't think I'll ever learn the program inside and out even after all these years.

Thanks Cakewalk for giving me/us a great DAW :)

Maybe Noel will provide an ETA on the next update.  I do not want to rush him or anyone on this, as it is more important that it be a great update!

Didn’t we just have one in November? Only a week into February and someone’s concerned about the future of Cakewalk by B. Sheesh!

Fair crack o’ the whip sport. Give the blokes a chance. She’ll be baked when she’s baked.

The present and future of Cakewalk is solid!

Cakewalk has shown itself to be very resilient and in a wonderful status now with Bandlab.

And Noel is one of the best representatives a company can have on a forum with a long track record of great customer service!

By the way, my post above about "any update on the update" was sort of tongue in cheek as indicated by the smilees.

There have been three beta releases this year. Combined, they include about 30 bug fixes and some nice enhancements. I can't talk about them per my NDA, but they're going to be very welcome additions. Some old favorites from SONAR days will be coming back, so everybody who came onboard after SONAR's demise are going to get some new goodies. But even you old SONAR guys will smile when you see the new version.

Is this where I trot out the "I hope it's the Cakewalk Hovercraft" gag again? ?

Hovercar, dammit ?

One should always be concerned about the future of freeware.......sport. ?

Never assume Meng Ru Kuok will always support CW. One needs only observe the recent layoffs in the industry to understand the current global economic climate and there are some projections for a more serious downturn.  Hence my concern.

Anyway I don't really need any updates since CW is no longer my main DAW for any tasks but it just seemed like updates were coming at a faster rate in the past than recently. Perhaps it just seems like there were more updates over time since I don't load CW every day.

But it's good to know that work continues on Cakewalk which I have owned since Sonar 5. Kudos to Bandlab for keeping it alive at least for the foreseeable future.?
