Ooo..  What's coming up?

I have 3 things on my wishlist, but one just got itself off it because of the advertising price without tax thing. The Microcosm is off. Perhaps second hand but it's not that common. That leaves the PWM Malevolent and the SOMA Lyra-8.

That's a great price, where did you find it?

It was under my Nugen upgrade offers** for a Modern Mastering bundle upgrade.

I owned Visualizer v1 and ISL v1 and the latest version of Master Check.
It was an upgrade to Visualizer v2 and ISL v2 (didn't end up with a 2nd copy of Master Check).

**you need a treasure map to find 'em.

Here's a copy of that map...

  • Login to your account
  • you get taken to the Downloads page - click on the hamburger (what web designers call the item with 3 horizontal lines) above the word 'Demos'
  • In the popup menu that opens select 'My offers and upgrades'
Here's the list of all the upgrades you qualify for. Click on one of the "Upgrade to XXXXXX" labels to see what your upgrade offer is.

  • When done triple right click on the hamburger again to locate the secret tunnel under Nugen headquarters that takes you behind Disney's It's a Small World ride.  This is where they secretly test their plugins on unsuspecting Disney customers.

One of the above steps may be a fake - 4chan says otherwise...

This BF I didn’t think I would buy anything, but managed to find an old boxed version of Steinberg Groove Agent 4 at a local reseller for around $30. It got automatically upgraded to the current version Groove Agent 5 when activated (MRP: $179).

If this sounds familiar, I had a similar experience BF 2021 buying a boxed version of Steinberg HALion Sonic 2 for around $30 (at the same reseller) which upon activation was automatically upgraded to HALion Sonic 3 (MRP: $249).

Hell Yeah!

An important bonus to me is that they both run under Cakewalk, whereas Grove Agent SE and HALion Sonic SE, which both came included with Cubase Pro, apart from being meager in comparison are restricted to Cubase.

<...treasure map here...>

Thank you very much for the info! I did get to the upgrades page but I only have the ISLv1 to ISL2 for $99  ? (I don't have any of the other Modern Mastering Bundle products, and right now the upgrade is more expensive than a straight purchase of the ISLst and ISL2 bundle for $75).

Oh well, I cannot complain. I already got a few good upgrades this year!

@Jan SchmitzSchmitzSchmitzSchmitz ?

If you've got that much lolly to burn, feel free to throw some of it my way. ?

I've been sweating over whether to get a 23 dollar plugin or not. ?

Me, too. Left out a 15 dollar purchase yesterday because it was already too much.

By the way, have fun with the new software. This will keep you occupied for a year, I think.

I'm still kinda dizzy from somehow having snagged the iZotope Music Production Suite 5 for $149.

The only other sales I took advantage of were cashing in some Meldaproduction referral credits for MFreeformEqualizer, and using someone else's referral credit to get Soundpaint's Supercluster for $5.

Considering the individual components in the MPS5 acquisition, that's probably the most plug-ins I've ever bought in one season. Due to the great cabal, it also included some nice PA FX.

Yeah, the plan is not to buy anything except for maybe new releases until next BF. I truly have multiple extremely high quality options for absolutely everything now.

I've got a Seaboard Rise 2 coming in January so it should be loads of fun.

Do you also think that the offers this year were really good?

Still debating whether to get Speedrum. I was looking at Tal Drum, but for me Speedrum has better workflow and send outputs so I don't need an output for each drum hit. I already have Falcon which has incredible onboard effects where I don't even need any extra tracks, and I can have a preset that sets everything up for me where I can just drag one shots in, but despite setting Falcon to use the One Shot mode in the preferences it won't remember it when I change the sample and also I wasn't able to figure out how to find the keygroup of the currently visible sample easily on the tree view. Little things like that.

Ridiculously good. I got everything from my list and then some. I see people on VI-C complaining about sales being lame this year and it's puzzling to me. Then again, I’m apparently the only person in the world who isn't a film composer.

I‘m literally terrified of the rest of the holiday deals to come, because this shit doesn't end until early January if we're being honest.

  • 8 Dio Intimate Studio Brass, Strings, Woodwinds
  • Dorico 4 Elements
  • Finished out my Metropolis Ark Collection
  • Ethera Atlantis 2
  • BBC Symphony Pro upgrade from Core
  • Sample From Mars (2022 Collection)
  • Melodyne Upgrade to Editor (which I actually feel pretty good about.  I got Melodyne Essential for free somewhere, I had a $20 coupon at the Celemony store which I used to upgrade to Assistant, then used Everyplugin to upgrade to Editor.  So, I have a grand total of $132 to go from nothing to Melodyne Editor. )

And as @Nick Blanc says, the hardware comes next month.
