telecode 101 Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 i checked out that company. just make sure you scan that file before you run in. i don't know. i am always a little weary of these "mysterious" companies without a public face. https://who.is/whois/techivation.com who knows. maybe this address is commonly used for all sorts of stuff . https://www.cisa.gov/uscert/sites/default/files/publications/MAR-10337802-1.v1.WHITE.pdf 1
user905133 Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 (edited) What is that pdf for? The Company? The Website? The Installer? Interesting that cisa.gov reports all sorts of versions/affiliations to Dark Side, but the website and the installer don't have any issues per VirusTotal. Is Virus Total less rigorous than cisa.gov? Is Virus Total fake? Question answered: "Microsoft's conclusion: virustotal.com is fake and randomly generates false lists of malware. Mar 29, 2017" Thanks for the cisa report. Techivation T-Compressor now removed. Edited December 8, 2022 by User 905133 to add another update; to add an update 1

I'm not sure what there is to be worried about from looking at whois alone. Namecheap is company where you can buy web domains from. All of the details are redacted as they bought privacy as part of their domain. It's probably someone's home/side business and they don't want to expose where they live to the world. They're probably either a solo dev, or a small company, which doesn't make them that much different from some other small companies that have deals posted here often. ... and no: I have nothing to do with Techvation Edited December 8, 2022 by antler 1

I was just looking at the address listed in whois and comparing to what was in the report.
chris.r Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Perhaps it's worth a mention that T-Deesser had been very well received on some other forums right after it's release. 1
