Meta (Facebook) Wants To Replace MP3

Meta, the entity formally known as Facebook, has written an audio encoder that uses artificial intelligence to encode audio ten times more efficiently than a MP3 encoder.  They introduce it on their Meta AI blog here.

Sneaky bastages aren't they?  They know that anyone who uses the AI version won't be able to play their track outside of Meta (which nobody with a working brain should ever use anyway).  Avoid like the plague!  (Heck, you'd probably be better off with the plague!)
