ionian
I'm moving my studio to a facility that's already wired for Dante so I'm going to have to move everything over to Dante from firewire. I know there was an old post last year that had said that there were massive incompatibilities between the Dante PCI-E card ASIO driver and Sonar. I also know that Noel had put serious time into hunting down why and fixed it and said the fix would be rolled out in an update. I'm just checking that the fix was rolled out eventually and that there are no problems interfacing Sonar with Dante anymore. I'd love to know before I move everything over to Dante and then can't access a bunch of projects! If anyone can chime in, especially if they're using Sonar successfully with a Dante PCI-E card, please do! Thanks!
msmcleod
Looks like it was fixed: http://forum.cakewalk.com/BIG-NEWS-ABOUT-DANTE-PCIE-COMPATIBILITY-WITH-CAKEWALK-BY-BANDLAB-IT-WILL-WORK-m3754373.aspx
ionian
Nice! I had seen the earlier thread where Noel said he was testing the fix but I didn't see the one you linked to. Thanks!
Mathieu Vachon
I'm using Dante Virtual Soundcard in ASIO mode and Cakewalk seems to see each channels, but it doesn't make them available. They are greyout: Other DAW and audio App like WWise work well with it. Does the Dante compatibility was entirely fixed, or only for the PCIe card? scook
My guess is this is being handled like all ASIO drivers. The DAW supports one I/O driver at a time. This is the ASIO standard. To switch ASIO drivers, deselected all current I/O settings then pick the one to use.
