Not able to mute vocals

Dear all,

I am an absolute beginner with Cakewalk. Just made a first recording last Wednesday,  Now I am trying to edit the recording, just one simple thing: trying to mute the voice track and save it, in order to create kind of a backing track for our singer. I have tried to mute the track, to delete it, to drag the volume down etc. But in all cases the voice is still there. Does someone experienced this also?

Select the track, “k” on your keyboard will mute it (“k” again to unmute)

or

click the “mute” button 

if pulling the fader to all the way down is not silencing the track you have a routing issue. A pre-fader effect send most likely.

In the X32 Behringer mixer I have a routing overview. Does such routing overview exists in Cakewalk?
