Justin Broad
I am using Cakewalk with a Behringer UMC 204 with the latest drives. Whenever I try and select ASIO as the driver mode I get an error saying the Realtek ASIO driver is incompatible with Cakewalk. The motherboard does have a Realtek device, but I have disabled it in the bios. In Cakewalk Preferences > Audio > Devices, there is no Realtek device. In Windows Device Manager (Windows 11 21H2) there is no Realtek device. The ASIO driver work fine all the other apps I have installed. Any ideas what's going on? Thanks Justin
tecknot
Hi Justin, I would guess it is the Realtek Asio driver still installed on your machine. Try removing the drivers for Realtek. Kind regards, tecknot
Justin Broad
As far as I can see there are no Realtek drivers installed. Windows Devices Manager doesn't see the Realtek device
Xoo
But the existence of an ASIO driver is stored in the registry, even if the device/driver is disabled in Device Manager.
scook
Make sure HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASIO in the registry only contains an entry for the Behringer UMC 204. If there is an entry for RealTek, delete it.
Justin Broad
Deleting the Realtek registry key did the trick, thanks ?
