garybrun Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Well Im getting quite productive.... will soon have an album ? This is a Scandinavian dance band/country song. 1
Johnbee58 Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 I like this. You seem to have quite a palate of instruments and sounds. I'm hearing quite a bit going on in this. And your voice is excellent too. ?John B. 1
Sailor55 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Brilliant. Got Chris Isaac written all over it. Great steel. As country as it get. - D 1
bjornpdx Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Gary Professional caliber performance again. I've listened to some "today's" country music on a local radio station and it all seems bland to me. What you're singing seems to be country music from maybe 60's-80's (?) which has melody and a lot of character to it.
thegaltieribrothers Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Hi Gary, Greatly satisfying country-plucking tune with an excellent vocal. Thanks for sharing. Good Job! regards paul
PhonoBrainer Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Sorry, this is way more Waylon or Merle than it is Chris Issac. Holy crap this is great. Love that big full yet controlled mix. MAybe just a hair less reverb on the vocal, and your "quiet aside" vocal parts are getting swamped, can't hear them. This is old-time country that would have killed 40 years ago. That tele tone - please tell me you are playing it for real - is absolutely spot on. AWESOME JOB on 'murican country, I don't care where you are from. Nice job! cheers, -Tom
SPAK Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Unbelievable vertical curve from Simond's song to this !!! ... I'm thinking you found another band and recording studio ... The mix of instruments are something else .... Knock out production in every way ...Godd'a think you were playing us all along ....... Excellent work Gary Steve
garybrun Posted July 5, 2019 Author Posted July 5, 2019 So there is no misunderstanding here... I am not that talented. I have took backing tracks and rebuilt them and added my own vocal. 1
noynekker Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Oh, I really like this ! I'm no country expert, but I hear Johnny Cash. That guitar is the hook, and made me come back for a few more listens. There's a spoken part in the middle that could be clearer with less reverberation, but other than that, it feels great . . . very well done. 1
Grem Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Agreed on the little too much reverb. But on the second listen it didn't sound as much as I thought on the first listen!! So, go figure!! Your doing a fine job mixing the backing trks. They sound clean and clear. And another outstanding vocal performance! 1
garybrun Posted July 6, 2019 Author Posted July 6, 2019 Changed the reverb and vocal level as suggested, This was a one take wonder... I'm just talking to the band members when I'm talking.

Grem Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 I liked it before Gary, but listening to it again after you made the adjustments, I can hear your words much more clearly, but it still sounds good with the amount of reverb you got on it. 1
Lynn Wilson Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Gary, your voice is the star instrument in this song. You've done an excellent job of putting together your voice with the backing tracks into a larger than life production. Nashville would be proud of you! Good luck with your album! 1
daryl1968 Posted July 12, 2019 Posted July 12, 2019 yeehaw! Very well done Gary - not my thang at all but I can appreciate it. I particularly like the squeezebox coming in and out. 1
jwnicholson78 Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 Really enjoyed that. I know it's a backing track, but you blend in well and I love your singing. 1
