RexRed Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 Still in the early stages of completion. All suggestions very welcome! Thanks awesome Cakewalk peeps! Yes, that is me singing, lol... ? There is still a lot of stuff not in the song yet.
Guest Posted July 21, 2022 Posted July 21, 2022 Oh a bit of doo-wop - love it Amazing vocal - as for crits, how about some honky-tonk piano and maybe experiment with some more variation in the percussion. Looking forward to the final version A

Looking forward to the final version A Both excellent suggestions! I plan for some background female vocals and main harmonies to my voice and I will try out your advice! Thanks Andy!
RexRed Posted July 23, 2022 Author Posted July 23, 2022 Okay, the female vocals went in, my own harmonies with the main vocal in the chorus, the brass (you got to listen for it) and a bit of honkytonk piano as well! I also added the electric lead guitar solos, I played them on my hollow body Grote guitar. Mine is like this but matte red. https://www.amazon.com/GROTE-Electric-Semi-Hollow-finished-Sunburst/dp/B08PY14Q3D/ref=sr_1_2

RexRed Posted July 24, 2022 Author Posted July 24, 2022 Thanks for the awesome comments peeps! This song would not be possible to the extend that it is without the helpful advice from this forum! Much love Cakewalk peeps! This was sung through the Shure SM7B going through the GAP Pre73 MKIII. It was recorded at 48khz 24bit through the Rodecaster Pro II I want to also thank the people who have been suggesting that I better soundproof my vocal room (studio). It occurred to me your thinking, even the slightest bit of bounce back into the mic will cause a doubling of the signal going into the mic. This will wreak havoc on transients as well. It took me a while for that to sink in, as does many things these days. All the best peeps!
bjornpdx Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Love it. Reminds me of the 50s channel on Sirius radio and that's a huge compliment. 50s chord changes, piano triplets, falsetto - you have it all down so well. -Bjorn 1
RexRed Posted July 29, 2022 Author Posted July 29, 2022 Thanks Bjorn for the really great comment! It was a fun song to make and a good project to get experience on. ? All these comments are really nice, thanks!
