Byron Dickens
Some yahoo on eBay is trying to sell a pair of SPL drumsticks for a starting bid of $17.50 + $11 shipping! https://www.ebay.com/itm/403720333532?hash=item5dff9b68dc:g:U They appear used. No details given as to whose grubby dick beaters have been on them that would make them worth money to a collector. They are $5 brand new at Guitar Center less than an hour away. https://www.guitarcenter.com/Sound-Percussion-Labs/Hickory-Drumsticks-Pair-Wood-7A-1274115051603.gc Some people's kids. slartabartfast
The problem with eBay auctions is that they are open to literally millions of bidders. That almost guarantees that some fool will be available to bid waaaay too much for something he has not done any comparison shopping for. The days when eBay was a place where you could find used goods for a really good price are pretty much gone--it is mostly "stores" these days. Starship Krupa
Wow, I see the auction ended with no bids and they just relisted it at the same starting price. One of the definitions of insanity.... BTW, I'm glad that you said "trying to sell." I've seen much confusion and blather stem from someone on vintage gear forums posting that "someone is selling...." and then the obligatory stream of outrage follows. They are not "selling" it, they only listed it. Thank you for making the important distinction.
craigb
Big mistake! They should have listed it higher the next time. That way some mental midget will think "Whoa! I should have bid! I won't miss out this time!" ?
Byron Dickens
I wonder why my offer was rejected? I said I would be willing to give $3 if he threw in free shipping since the exact same sticks sell for $5 brand new in the package.
