RexRed Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Hey Cakewalk peeps! Here is a song I am working on. It is in the early stages of completion. i.e. no harmonies yet, no lead guitars, drums might need heavy compression etc... Please offer your honest suggestions they are always very helpful. I hope you enjoy this new tune! RexRed 1
jack c. Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 i like what i hear so far.jack c.have less kick hits in beginning 1
RexRed Posted June 13, 2022 Author Posted June 13, 2022 Thanks Jack, great suggestion on the kick! ??
Guest Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Hmm there's something not quite right with those drums, kick's a little heavy and the HH and snare sound kind of toppy - everything else sounds grand with the usual stellar vocal. I'd definitely have another crack at those drums - perhaps a different kit? Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the listen but I reckon you can definitely improve it. Andy
RexRed Posted June 17, 2022 Author Posted June 17, 2022 (edited) Awesome awesome awesome input Cakewalk peeps, very helpful indeed! I have worked on the mix it just needed some love. The song is not finished yet, it mainly needs a guitar lead near the end. Maybe some oohs and ahhs in the beginning when the lead vocal first comes in. Let me know if it is better than it was. Guest Posted June 17, 2022 Posted June 17, 2022 Drums - these are definitely much better but I still quite a lot of top end ? Harmonies are sweeeeeet. ? Great job Andy
RexRed Posted June 17, 2022 Author Posted June 17, 2022 Thank you Andy, glad you like the harmonies. I will look at the drums again when I add other harmonies and the lead guitar. Thanks for the input and honest suggestions. ???

SUPAREELS Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Hi Rex, been listening to you work for some time now and this is a break away from your usual format ..and it's bloody good, you have enough advice drum wise and as a vocalist first myself, I would ask you to up your game on the chorus line ... apart from the ending vocal which is a great message to the loved one. looking forward to you finished upload Steve 1
