My favorite store for computer parts, MICRO CENTER. Just 10 minutes from door to door.
RobertWS
My first hard drive cost me $500. It was 10 Megabytes and went into my 8088 clone.
TheSteven
My first 'big' HD was a 40MB drive from Micropolis - cost over me over $700 and I only got it that cheap because my friend was an employee there and got me a special discount.
Grem
Wow!! That was some high prices!! I remember getting my first computer. I asked my computer friend if 120mb was big enough. He told me "You'll never fill it!" Ahhh the good ol days!!

My second computer had a 80 MB hard drive, it was a Mac Performa 405. I thought I had a huge hard drive back then.
mettelus
I ended up ordering one of these since K12U is eating a massive chunk of my NVMe and not sure which libraries I will actually be using yet. I never thought I would see the day where a 1TB sample drive was too small, yet here it is. The drive prices are funny to remember... it was a HUGE deal when they broke the $1/MB mark, now they are significantly faster at $0.10/GB. A year and a half ago I got a phone which sported "support for a 2TB MicroSD card"... they weren't even available then, but are now.
