How to save FX presets?

Question

Posted

I have some custom FX settings I would like to re-use.  I see the Add Preset option in the dialog box.  I tried creating a preset based on the settings I was using and I saved them in Ensemble (for the Modulator).  But when I open a new project and try to select that new preset it's not there.  Is it possible to do what I am trying to do?

The Sonitus preset manager uses ini files to store presets.

By default, the ini files are located in "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Plugins" and user have read-only access to them.

In order to save presets

  • right-click on the ini file(s)
  • open properties from the file context menu
  • edit permissions
  • allow Write permission for users

Thanks for the quick reply.  So after I set those file permissions is the Add Preset button the way to save my custom setting?

Update.  I went into the Security tab and the user named Users did not have Write permissions.  So as you suggested I added that permission to Users and went back to Cakewalk and I was able to select the custom preset that I saved.  Problem solved.  Thanks again.
