fx bypass doesn't work. help

hi! is it normal, most of my plugins i can't use "bypass" option by cakewalk? it's greyed out, not usable.
i wanna use this because of the automation. any idea? thanks.

Host bypass is a VST3 function.

There is no comparable function available in the VST2 spec but some VST2 plug-ins implement an on/off feature or mix that may be automated.
