How to get rid of the little blue dot behind the audio?

I don't think you can get rid of it unless there is some color setting where you could blend it in?

The dots appear before the beginning of a clip. They do not appear when a track has no clip.

You can paint them to match the Track View Clips Pane Background.

Preferences = Customization > Colors > Clips Pane Ellipse

Theme Editor = Track View | Clips Pane | Clips > Clips Pane Ellipse

I don't know why you'd want to. They help delineate the grid in blank areas where there is no data.

Although to achieve this, you need to make odd and even tracks the same colour, else the dots will appear on one of them!  I'm sure in an old version of SONAR you could turn them off, but I may be misremembering.

Ooopsy, you're right. But in my theme they are the same. 

I haven't found a way to turn off ellipses but you can turn off Track Separators in the Views > Display menu.

Those dots are a valuable tool for showing you that there’s audio or midi data further along in a track.

Yep. How often do I end up with a sliver so small I can't see it, save for the dots.

But if someone wants 'em gone, who am I to ask why??
