chris.r
When exactly did it start? Nothing on their website. Hopefully tomorrow will be still going on. I don't have anything Softube yet. Is there anything I should be aware of before entering their ecosystem? Or it's just drop the license, install and enjoy?
scook
Softube uses PACE copy protection so, at a minimum you will have to create an iLok account and install the iLok License manager if you have not done so already.
abacab
I recently had an issue with the Softube manager getting in sync with the iLok License Manager. Even though iLok Manager and the Softube website showed my licenses activated, the plugins were not, and threw an error whenever I tried to use them. Turns out that I had an older point release of the iLok License Manager, and needed to update it. Also uninstalled/reinstalled Softube manager along the way... that step was likely redundant, as the iLok update was apparently the true fix here. I prefer manually install each software and keep out of any managers unless I'm forced to use (XLN, NI, Waves...)

Well with Softube, the Softube Central downloader is required for installation and activation and MUST be linked to your iLok account. No direct downloads are in my Softube account. https://www.softube.com/softube-central

chris.r
Thanks scook. In the Support section I also have read about direct installers.
abacab
Well if you are going to have to install iLok anyway, might as well take advantage of Softube Central! Save some clicks...

I had problems with the default settings installing to the wrong folder and activating to both my C drive and iLok 3 Edited January 6, 2022 by TheSteven 1
chris.r
They want me to link their account with ilok whatever that means. That's new to me as I've been always given a redeem code and manually registering in my ilok account. No code with Softube? Or is it again something they push but I can't find a workaround. They use iLok software to manage licenses. You will need to install iLok. I think their software manage will do it for you. https://www.softube.com/softube-central

I also don't like linking accounts but I will link if it's the only way. Thanks
