KSband Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 I have two separate songs that I want to combine into one, how is this done? I looked at import in file but it wasn't clear how that would work.
KSband Posted January 4, 2022 Author Posted January 4, 2022 So I did a drag and drop from my cakewalk projects folder but none of the fx came with the tracks , it's all just dry. Is there a way to get them over with everything?
tecknot Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Hi Kurt, Have you tried the drag and drop from the Media Browser? Kind regards, tecknot
KSband Posted January 4, 2022 Author Posted January 4, 2022 I didn't think of that for some reason but it accomplishes the same thing I did before, there is no processing on any of the tracks.
Jimbo 88 Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 The way I have done forever, probably outdated now...go to Preferences>File>Advanced and un-click "allow only one project at a time". Open both projects and copy the tracks you'd like into the target file. I have 2 monitors so I'd stretch CbB to fill both and have each file on it's own monitor just to keep things straight. I have always had heavy virtual instruments with tons of ram, so just to make this easier I would open the files in "safe" mode.
57Gregy Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Apply all effects, bounce to tracks, apply trimming, etc. so the tracks are all audio with the effects burned in. Drag those effected tracks into your new project. Close the first project without saving. For the *****-retentive among us (raises hand) make a copy of the project before doing all of that.
KSband Posted January 4, 2022 Author Posted January 4, 2022 OK, thanks. I was wondering if that's how it would have to be done, just being lazy and hoping for a way to not do it.
