Paco Salazar
Same as Pro Tools or Cubase pressing ctrl-D selecting a clip, duplicate it. Perfect to make Audio or Midi loops without drag and drop. Please!
Tezza
Do you mean "shared duplicates" or just duplicates. If it is just duplicates, this can be done by converting the clip to a groove clip in the inspector, then you can drag it across and it repeats itself. Or you can just select the clip and then right click and in the menu select "Groove clip looping". Edited May 19, 2019 by Tezza
Noel Borthwick
For MIDI have you tried the pattern tool? You can essentially select a MIDI clip and "paint" it inside the piano roll view to roll out the data on the timeline. It's a reasonable request however. 1
Paco Salazar
There are forms to do it like you are saying, but the “ctrl - D” shortcut option, chosing a clip with a grid lenght ( pro tools duplicate too the spaces between clips if you select a bunch of them In a grid) is really fast and inmediate. Hope that it is not a difficult implementation in our Cakewalk.
Jaime Ramírez
Try "Groove Clips" for Midi and Audio loops.. Is the best manner (i try duplicate in Pro Tools and Studio One. Or you can copy and paste (special past pressing ctrl, alt and "V" an make the paste 50 times for example in the dialog box.. 1
Eve Ripper
Painting is great but clicking is always faster.

GreenLight
I think implementing a duplicate ("CTRL + D") function would be awesome! If you're curious about why this is needed and wonder why it's faster than drag & drop, please see the demonstration of the Duplicate feature in Live below: Basic Editing in Ableton Livehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8DvIvoiMLI&t=10m28s
Mark Morgon-Shaw
I always use CTRL + L and drag the loop out
GreenLight
That's also a nice option that I use regularly, but a Live-style CTRL+D duplication would be even faster. ?
