Practice with click without recording

Back in pre Bandlab days, I could arm a track and turn on monitoring and hit play with the metronome and practice. Now it doesn't play at all unless there's something recorded on the track. 

Is there a setting I'm missing or is this no longer possible?

Did you turn on the playback metronome in the transport module?

Under Options (in track view) turn off Stop at Project End and you can practice with the metronome by hitting play.

Or you can loop 4 bars and go on playng.

@Lynn Wilson  Thanks for that reply.  I'll try that. Like Vincent , this has always bothered me when I'm just Hunting the right bpm. I always record about 12 bars of Nothing  just to get the metronome working.   Thanks Vincent for the post.
