PhonoBrainer Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Is that a harmonizer going sub on your lead vocal? Sounds cool. Thanks for that light-hearted holiday romp! I liked your take on this classic. You could start metallizing 80's new wave and start a genre. Or a niche. Next up, maybe "Tainted Love?" 1
antler Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Nice - it takes it in a very different direction from the original! I wasn't quite sure what to expect with the glockenspiel intro - it makes for an unusual (but good) complement to the sonic palette of metal. 1

No, I sang that an octave lower than the other vocal. Thanks for listening, and positive feedback PhotoBrainer. All the best. Edited December 23, 2021 by Zargg

I felt the glockenspiel fitted the song All the best.

I know Marylin Manson did a cover of both these (Sweet dreams and Tainted love), so I'm gonna pass on that, and do another one instead. It is actually already well under way.
Leizer Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 Great cover Ken! It wasn't just a "look I did a metal cover of a synth pop song", you picked up the essence of the song. Good mix, maybe save some of the lower voice here and there for variation. 1

Thanks for listening and the positive feedback, Lasse. The low voice was the main vocal, until I recorded what was meant to be the BGV. Then I switched them around. Will keep that in mind for later. All the best.
