How to automate mute multiple tracks at once

If there is such a way, please explain how to assign an automated mute section to multiple tracks at once. Right now in track view I go in one track at a time to the automation lane and do it there. Would love to do it once and have whatever kind of automation apply to multiple tracks.

Here is a method to automate any control (including manual mute) on multiple tracks.

 

Although it may be simpler to route all the tracks into an aux track/bus and automate its mute.

This is how I would do it. It also leaves open the option of fading the group in/out instead of using the mute automation.
