Jerry Pellegrino
Does anyone know if Studio One 5 plugins can be used in Cakewalk and if so how can you access them in Cakewalk?
scook
AFAIK, the plug-ins bundled with the DAW are locked to the DAW. Plug-ins purchased separately and the free plug-is come with a VST shell that run in any DAW.
Malaferd
I believe if you download and install the Pre Sonus Hub that the plugins--at least some of them, but definitely not the synths--will appear and be used as part of a VST shell in Cakewalk. paulo
It would certainly be nice to be able to make use of the synths in S1. Seems a bit petty to lock them down. If I own a licence to use them, then I own a licence to use them. What difference does how I use them make to Presonus ?

It is possible that Presonus does not have the right to allow the use in other appications, if there are third parties involved. Like in the case of zillions of free VSTs that you're not allowed set as a part of some DAW or other software.
John Vere
Well Cakewalk locks out plenty of stuff. Like all the Blue Tube plugs that I guess came with Sonar. They show on other apps plug in lists but if you try and insert them you are told they are licensed to Cakewalk.
Craig Anderton
PreSonus doesn't make it super-obvious which plug-ins are hub-compatible and which aren't. I do know that the Analog Effects packages are hub-compatible, as are the Fat Channel add-ons.

This is just one reason why I wish ReWire had been expanded instead of killed. Ableton Live is (or I guess was) a ReWire client, so you could use all their instruments with Cakewalk. Studio One was never a ReWire client, but if ReWire had become really popular, then there would be have been more pressure on DAWs to be ReWire clients.
