Osman Hemidov
Hello everybody. Thoughts for improvement, if I may. 1. If you freeze the instrument and then copy the resulting audio clip on the same track, then if you unfreeze it, you can see that the midi clip was not copied along with the audio, as it was done, for example, in studio one. 2. Is it possible to make the level of an audio clip be adjusted in the same way as in other programs, not to the upper border of the clip, but more? Sorry for google translation. Peace for everyone
John Vere
The reason is in Cakewalk instrument tracks are audio tracks. If it is a simple instrument track that you freeze Cakewalk renders the midi to Audio and the tracks midi data is not physically present in the track anymore. It is stored as part of the project for retrieving when you unfreeze. So you need to do all your editing when it is midi. There’s no real reason to freeze track unless your maxing out your system and trying to lighten your load.
Osman Hemidov
2 hours ago, John Vere said: I just asked if you can do it like in other programs, it's convenient, especially at the mixing stage when you hide all the midi tracks, and suddenly you need to copy something, and you forget that the midi will not be copied along with the audio And then, after a while , you open the project, defrost it, and there is something missing And yes, I freeze it because there are not enough computer resources. What about the second question?

sjoens
1. Maybe unfreeze track, copy MIDI data, then re-freeze. Now you have both. 2. Don't know how other DAWs do it. Go to file menu > Process > Apply Effect > Gain and raise or lower loudness as desired. 3 hours ago, John Vere said: There’s no real reason to freeze track unless your maxing out your system and trying to lighten your load. Osman Hemidov
Thanks everybody !! Believe me, I am aware of all of the above But why not make Сakewalk better?

With the way Cakewalk works any further editing requires you unfreeze the track first. Takes 2 seconds. I can see you might have a workflow you were using in another DAW but this is always an issue if you change between any software as each is different 2. There is 18db of headroom for audio tracks you can use either the gain control or clip gain if it’s just a clip. If that is not enough then use Process/ Audio/ Normalization and set it at the desired max peak level.

There is - It's useful when using string libraries with variable attack envelopes, they can change just by switching articulation for example. Being able to see the audio waveform for these types of parts makes it way eaiser to align them with each other so it's better to freeze and slide them around. If you could unfreeze it and have the underlying midi move along with it this would be a huge benefit as it would keep all the timing adjustments but allow you to still edit the part later. At the moment you just have to put it off until the end and then do it in the hope no further changes are required otherwise you have to do it all over again. Osman Hemidov
Track Manager dialog Do one of the following to open the Track Manager dialog: Click the Track view Tracks menu and choose Track Manager. Click the Console view Strips menu and choose Track Manager. Press H. Use this dialog box to hide or display the various track modules and buses in the view that you opened it from. The Track Manager dialog box has the following fields and buttons: Presets. Create per-project presets of the Track Manager dialog settings. Is it possible to make the presets work not in one but in all projects? Because it's basically the same job. Thanks
John Vere
Normally you use track templates to copy settings from project to project. Get a track set up with everything you want including effects and icons and save as a track template. It will also include any buss it was directed to
