Newbie question re: Midi tracks

Question

Posted

I'm new to Cakewalk and am working through the manual. On page 192 of the latest manual from GitHub, I see several controls on each Midi track that don't appear in my version of Cakewalk (latest version). The missing items include Volume, Pan, Velocity and several dropdowns.

Can someone please tell me how to get those controls to appear?

When documented features are missing, the first thing to check is the workspace setting.

Try changing this setting to None.

Thanks for the quick response - checking Workspaces was the answer. None didn't do it, but Advanced got me where I wanted to go.

None should work but the track control options may not get reset when initially switching from a workspace to no workspace.

There is a secondary setting when the workspace is set to None, the track control drop down.

Here is an image of it showing all controls selected.

Workspaces are a handy way of creating customized workflows but they can make it difficult to follow the documentation as it is mostly written from a perspective of all features turned on.
