Joy
I got a new laptop, Windows 10, Dell Inspiron 16plus, intel core i7, Intel iRIS graphics and tons of memory. Cakewalk program installed smoothly, including the Instrument suite and Melodyne. When I launch the program, either admin or not, the loading spinner won't stop spinning. Buttons are sluggish to respond, playback is difficult to get started. I've turned off the firewall with no improvement. I expected that a newer faster machine would improve Cakewalk immensely...now I wonder if it will work at all. Never had trouble with this on my old and slow laptop. Help?? scook
If the RealTek driver is under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASIO in the registry, it needs to be deleted. Removing the registry entry will prevent the DAW from trying to load the bad driver and the program will use another Windows driver. Maybe someday Cakewalk will automatically skip this driver.
