No sound HELP!

For some reason when I play my tracks in Cakewalk there is no sound coming out of my speakers. I'm using my laptop's speakers and they are selected in the output it looks like. I created a drum track with the step sequences and when I play it I hear nothing. Please help!  Thank you

You might need to post an image of your Preferences > Audio Devices configuration as a starting point for diagnosing this one.

I assume you don't have an external or 3rd party audio interface, just the on-board audio. Do you know what brand/manufacturer it is? RealTek? Conexant?

What device driver type are you using in Cakewalk? WASAPI? ASIO? something else?

What happens when you play a Youtube video - do you get sound through the speakers, or somewhere else?

Just for comparison, on my HP laptop (which I keep around for reference) I am using the on-boardaudio. The output drivers say "Speakers (conexant ISST Audio) 1/2" etc;  and the driver mode is "WASAPI (shared)". It works fine for simple stuff.
