PRV Gradient

Is it possible to remove the gradient from notes in PRV? It would be much easier on the eyes, and also much easier to make use of the velocity shading feature. If not, can someone explain what function the gradient serves? Maybe it has some advantages I'm not thinking/aware of?

I have my vertical zoom so far out that I didn't even realize that Notes are colored with a gradient

By default, note events in the Piano Roll are colorized based on velocity. Darker shades of the basic track color indicate higher velocities. Lighter shades of the basic track color indicate lower velocities.This behavior can be bypassed by adding the following INI variable to the WinCake section of Cakewalk.ini (see “Cakewalk.ini”on page 1346):

I think the OP is referring to the colour gradients on the notes themselves as they appear on the note pane. These are more pronounced as you zoom in.

To the OP, it's not possible at this time.  You could put a feature request here (for what it's worth).

Indeed, and that was the only reference to PRV note colour I could find... It seems like another INI option  might do the trick ?

That is correct. Bummer. I find that the 3D/gradient is distracting and adds to eye fatigue over a long haul, not to mention as stated, it makes it more difficult to see the velocity-based colors.
