Got it. Lightning fast download and install. It was 194MB and only took a few seconds. It said I was downloading faster than my connection allows and it truly was. Zoinks.

So far so good.

The update is free for all paid (sub or otherwise) users. The only thing that seems to have been sub-only was an announcement explicitly stating that 5.2 was on its way; there was a more vague announcement on Twitter saying something big was coming.

Be thankful you don't have to put billing information to download even a trial, like Adobe started making mandatory since September.

And that's why I use Gimp and Blender. And the last hard copy version of Lightroom.

I got that version too. Last of breed. The best digital darkroom tool for photographers.

And as further avoidance of subscriptions, I use Adobe Photoshop Elements for light photo editing, and have the CorelDraw Graphics Suite and some other stuff for any more challenging graphics tasks.

Have heard good things about Affinity. Got my hands full of tools that fit my needs at the moment, but if I was looking that would be next on the list... ?

And if you’re into orchestral libraries, you could also check version 7 of  Babylonwaves Art conductor. They just made their thousand of templates to Studio One with the new update. I bought version 5 previously for Cubase, but I’m not really using Cubase. I recently received a half-price coupon to upgrade to version 7, but I decided today to upgrade to the Studio One version instead, with the half-price coupon still working on this one.

I might go Sphere if PreSonus threw those of us loyal enough to have purchased the latest Studio One and Notion a decent bone...
