How can I create a staff view

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi there, I've just joined and downloaded Cakewalk..  I'd love some advice.  Just as a starting point, I'd like to bring up an empty stave and then add the notes manually.  (I don't have a midi interface at the moment to do this directly from an instrument).

How do I get the staff view please?  (I am hoping that once I have the stave displayed, I will be able to work out how to add the notes myself.

This series of tutorials doesn't cover your specific question  (that has already been answered) but is a great introduction to Cakewalk from first steps. All of Mike's videos are easy to follow and entertaining to watch and as you progress I'm sure you will find them invaluable as I have done

Hi Mark , thanks very much again. I have managed to get two staves up, but is there any way to create a piano type double stave, with treble and bass clefs?  I have managed to get two different tracks on view, but both are treble and I cannot see a way to change the clef.

Thank you so much.

I now have a stave with notes on it,but  there are lines down through it which are affecting the playback. Can anyone advise what they are and how to get rid of them, they are at the 2nd and 3rd beats of the second bar, and the 1st beat of the 4th bar of the top image.
