ceakay Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Hello!! I made a lofi song in Cakewalk. I have been making less edm and have been experimenting with other types of music just for fun, so I hope you like it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1FqSOhdJbI 1
DeeringAmps Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 Not my genre, so no crits here from me; just wanted ya to know I had a listen... t
noynekker Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 Not really getting the Lofi vibe here ? . . . musically it's a good listen, but sonically, it reminds me that the audio card is not set up correctly, hence the endless high end pops through this whole piece. Is that intended ? Just curious.

ceakay Posted February 1, 2021 Author Posted February 1, 2021 Yeah, it is a vinyl crackle. I think I maybe made it too loud? I usually don't make lofi too. I'm still learning ? 3
daryl1968 Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 I like this - it's crying out for a vocal though 1
Starise Posted February 2, 2021 Posted February 2, 2021 Nice to experiment with different things! The vinyl crackle is one of those things that some people appreciate while others not so much. I'm somewhere in the middle. For me some at the beginning makes it sound like a real record was started. All the way through it sounds like a dirty record. Like you say, maybe lowering it some would be the best of both worlds. JMHO. Thanks for sharing. 1

Wookiee Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 @seakay beats I will admit I never have understood the need to simulate vinyl scratches and pops it does not sound real world to me it is just irritating. Why, because it is the one thing that vinyl devotes try to avoid happening to their vinyl collection. Having said that, musically is suitably mixed, ignoring the very repetitive nature of the simulation, as noted by Daryl it need some other ear candy like a vocal to add the final touch. 1
