The title says it all. Very well done. The song gets a bit predictable until 2:05 where you have a nice breakout. Great guitar playing. I'd suggest bumping up the tempo a few bpm.

As I have said before anything that starts involuntary furry paw tapping along with a gentle furry head nodding by bar two has to be half reasonable.

Nice easy gentle grooving.

I'd agree with Bjorn on the tempo, possibly up the drums a notch and maybe add a tad more drive to that lead guitar - but it's all a question of taste and these are minor crits. I do like it more when the guitar gets busy in the middle section (good chops btw). Well done overall. Andy

Thanks Andy. If I upped the tempo I'd have to re-record everything, I don't think I want to start over. Driving the amp more that would be easy, I'll check that out.

I like the overall mix quality and I didn't find it too slow. It does have some room for a bit more improv (I like the lead guitar section) - but I kept waiting for Herb Alpert or or David Sanborn to come in and blow it up!  Also, just a thought, in certain sections you have two guitars and a keyboard playing more or less very similar parts at exactly the same time, in the 1:30 - 1:50 section for example. That choice might be where you could switch it up a bit? Overall, it lives up to Smooth and maybe just needs a bit more Fuze? Just a bit, more gratuitous solo noodling in the gaps would be my thought YMMV of course!

cool tune!

cheers,

I know what you're saying, the guitar and keys fight with each other a bit. I thought about just having the keyboard only on that part. Thanks for the comments.

This, is a very good point. I did that with a song once, fixed the tempo but the second one was never as good.
