In the past when I was using Cakewalk 2 (and then later Cakewalk Home Studio 6), when after playing and recording say a violin solo MIDI track on only the Verse section, I was able to continue recording on the same track by playing the Chorus section while still being able to hear the earlier recorded violin solo (playing the Verse section). But now that I'm using Sonar Artist, during the recording, the track is muted, so I can't hear the earlier recorded violin! How do I disable the auto-muting while attempting to continue recording on the same track? Sometimes I have some missing notes which I wish to add, thus it doesn't make sense for such a muting to occur!
Thus now my interim solution is to record it on ANOTHER track, and later performing a manual merger by copying and pasting events from Track 2 in to Track 1, which is extremely cumbersome and inefficient. Please help, thanks!
