Distortion when Recording

Hello,

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I hear distortion when trying to record.

I am using a MX3M USB condenser mic and audio driver WASAPI Shared.

• On track 1, I have imported an instrumental.
• On track 1, I have space for my recording.
• When I listen to the instrumental, there is no distortion.
• When I start recording, I hear distortion.
• When I stop recording and listen to tracks 1 and 2, there is no distortion.
  
  Any advice?

My first guess is the audio interface buffer is too small.

Unfortunately this cannot be adjusted in WASAPI Shared mode.

Try a different driver mode in Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording

The audio interface buffer is set using the buffer size slider in the Mixing Latency section in Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings.
