No audio from Midi

I can hear the metronome perfectly fine but I'm not getting any audio from my midi keyboard.

I've set the Midi up in preferences and the sound registers visually when I record and play notes but I get no audio.

Thoughts?

 

Edit: I turned up the volume on my paino and it's been playing through there the whole time... The output dropdown box on the midi track strip only has 'usb midi interface' as the option.

MIDI has no sound. It is merely instructions. You must insert an instrument/synth and route the MIDI data to it.

Just to get started, open a new blank project. From the browser )Views -> Browser) choose an instrument. Drag and drop it on to the track pane.

In the dialog select Simple Instrument Track.

Switch on Input Echo.

It's radiating dot icon to the right of the record-arm button. It must turn orange.

Play the keyboard. You should hear sound.
