I have converted a drum track to audio and when I play it and it reaches the end of the track it stops abruptly without allowing any decay from reverb and shimmering cymbals. Is there a way to prevent this  -do I need to another measure to the end of the original track for example?

...and also page 910, "Clip Tail Duration".

Back in Sonar 8 there was a setting "Play Effect Tails After Stopping".

Seems to have morphed into this where you can set an actual time.

There is a way of dealing with tails while exporting audio. But I am struggling to find out how to deal with tails when bouncing midi into an audio track. Its very confusing as it should be quite simple.

I found a tip in some old Sonar X3 help.

What you do is highlight an extra few bars at the end of the track with the tails. This will get converted into audio and the effects that are tailing off will be recorded also.

Thanks for the assistance. It got me thinking laterally and worked out very well.

This is the setting that you need to set:

I tried this one but it didn't work when converting to audio from midi. I think its for when you export audio only.

All you need to do is slip edit your midi clip for as long as the tail lasts.

This. I just drag the midi clip out a few bars.

If that doesn't work an old trick was to add a useless note like C1  a few measures after the last note.
