Install over BL Assistant hangs on Installing... Please fix setup

It's me again. After having fixed the install on my old PC DAW by installing Visual C runtimes (thank you, User 905133) I now tried updating my new, 6-month-old PC which has ONLY DAW-related stuff on it.

I started my PC, opened BandLab Assistant (cakewalk not open), clicked the Apps tab and the button under Cakewalk said "Update" so I clicked on it.

It downloaded the necessary files fairly quickly, now the word "Installing..." is fading in and out.

It has been doing this for half-an-hour. Nothing is happening.

The install needs fixing.

You can manually run the installer by going to this folder:
%appdata%\bandlab-assistant\Downloads

And I see my old setup files are there too, so I guess I can go back should that become necessary.

Did you have the latest version of Bandlab Assistant installed? I got a failed installation (hanging at installing) but updated to version 6 and installed no problem. Worth updating ready for the next update of CbB - though good that it can now be updated from within the programme itself

I don't know.

Normally BandLab Assistant tells me if there's an update (of itself).

It didn't this time.

Yeah I didn't get a notification either just remembered that the new version appeared to sort people out last time so went to the website
