sjoens
Yet another 1st for Sonar/CbB. I open CbB and drag in an old wrk file with 8 simple MIDI tracks I recorded from my old synth a few years back in Sonar X1. Reassign the midi outputs to the proper location. Hit play and all is good. Then I notice all the faders are maxed out to 127. So I hold ctrl and click a track to select all tracks and move the faders to 100. Hit play again and, HUH??? All but one track transposed up an octave. How'd that happen? I didn't do anything, I swear! Then I tried to move the faders down to 100 while still grouped together and discovered as I moved them up and down the whole song was transposing up and down. I've never heard of such a thing. Is it supposed to do that? I thought the fader thingies were for +/- volume output, not +/- octave pitch. I never knew about this feature. Shall we call it RealTime MIDI VariPitch? What will this li'l piece of software come up with next? I can hardly wait to find out. Edited February 24, 2019 by sjoens
chuckebaby
I've had strange things happen as well opening older X1 projects. What I normally do right off the bat is open the project, Save it under a new name (this way the original is left untouched). I then close cakewalk all together. Reopen Cakewalk and check for the same issue.
