I not need no help with WIN 7

Just for anyone who's tired of Windows Update or Microsoft/other software issues.

Years ago I took my music desktop pc offline,  removed Windows Update and virus software etc.

I can really recommend it,  not 1 prob/error in 5 years or so.

Downside is you need a dedicated computer, probably also not all plugins etc can be used on offline computers.

I just pulled out my old DAW server box.  It still booted and worked... using XP! ?

I just recently threw away all my XP and Windows 7 install sets.

I never maked such mistake also never buyed stuff I don't need.

I'm sure it will run Cakewalk SONAR 6 just fine.

I've always found that windows works great as an offline operating system. Never had any problems with it in 20 years. This is why I run an offline computer with all my DAW, video editing, multi-media and critical applications on it. No anti-virus and all Lan etc disabled. I use a KVM switch and laptop docking port, so all my internet browsing and work, light software processing etc is done on the laptop. I press a button and I am on the other offline computer using the same monitor and keyboard/mouse. Very compact 2 computer system.
