InstrEd Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Seems like a nice place to make a recording.
InstrEd Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Where can I get me one of those spiffy hats.
craigb Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Love that banjo lead! Does anyone have the tab for it? ? 1
Jim Hurley Posted February 15, 2019 Author Posted February 15, 2019 Nobody seems to play John Cage in the correct tempo:
Jim Hurley Posted February 15, 2019 Author Posted February 15, 2019 I read somewhere - and I can't find it now - that the Cage performance was actually televised live on a TV show at one time. But the surprise was that after a certain point, the broadcast was interrupted by an automated alert triggered by the silent interval. Something in the network detected the lack of audio as a signal error. If anyone can verify or find that story I'd be grateful.
craigb Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 I've got the tab for Cage's 4:13 if anyone's interested (the lyrics too!).
Jim Hurley Posted February 15, 2019 Author Posted February 15, 2019 Cage once made or proposed a sound installation where a large room was outfitted with microphones set to the edge of feedback. Nothing else. People and room noises were amplified and set ringing.
David Sprouse Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 Funny is always better than clever. There's tons of clever composers, very few that actually have a sense of humor
