DeeringAmps Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 Cowabunga! More Surin' USA!, er Finland? Do ya'll surf in the Nordic region? Man oh man, waxing the board must be a chore. Dry suit or wet? All kidding aside, I always enjoy your tunes Makke! ? t
Douglas Kirby Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 A Finnish traditional folk song - wow - we get all kinds of different music on this forum. I enjoyed the listen - like Tom mentioned, it sounds like surf rock to me - very cool.
bjornpdx Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 My wife is into folk dancing and when she heard your song she broke into an Israeli folk dance. She doesn't know any Finnish dances but it worked well for Israeli I guess. Pretty cool to update folk music with modern instruments and gear.
Makke Posted May 19, 2020 Author Posted May 19, 2020 Hi DeeringAmps, Douglas Kirby , bjornpdx , David Sprouse Thanks for the comments.
Wookiee Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 Nice Norwegian surf tune, I suspect when those north Atlantic rollers come in you could get quite a a surf up.

Hello Wookie Thanks for the listening and comment. p.s. This is not Norwegian tune. This is a Finnish ”rautalanka” version of the old Finnish folk Song. ? 1

Lynn Wilson Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 Makke rides again! The more I hear, the more I like.
PhonoBrainer Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 Perky as hell. Great guitar as usual! Emma must have surfed, or perhaps hung with Johnny Cash's band a bit. A crit might be in the drum department, what are you using? The drum kit is mixed a bit narrow and a bit back against the wall for my taste. However, that certainly fits the period style of the tune, so that's a fine choice. cheers, -Tom

Maybe I added too much room on the Ez-drummers mix-settings. Greetings Makke
SteveC Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 Nice playing! Really nailed that surf meets folk style.
