DeeringAmps Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 (edited) Good article at Rolling Stone My favorite quote: "They'd never seen anything like me in Florida Georgia" (now I think I got it right) Question: if Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll, Little Richard was the _____ ? Lets make it a poll...... tom Edited May 9, 2020 by DeeringAmps added comment
Notes_Norton Posted May 9, 2020 Posted May 9, 2020 RIP Richard. The music in heaven will be rockin' tonight. He was one of the early greats. I guess Jerry Lee Lewis is the last man standing now. Question: if Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll, Little Richard was the _____ ? Soul? 2
marcL Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 If Elvis was the King of Rock'n'Roll, then Little Richard was the emperor of Rock'n'Roll IMO! Oh my soul! What a powerful voice (up to B4), what cool songs (made by himself)! I really prefer Little Richard! ? Elvis was more a beldam Rock'n'Roller (please don't feel attacked, you Elvis fans out there). ? 2
Notes_Norton Posted May 10, 2020 Posted May 10, 2020 (edited) I liked them both for different reasons. IMO both were at their best in the 1950s. Before Little Richard was a rock and roller, he was an excellent R&B singer (in the original meaning of the term R&B) Check out this album. I liked it so much I bought a download copy and burned it to disk. Edited May 10, 2020 by Notes_Norton 1 1
