I am really VERY proud of this one

As Keith said, Rightly So!
Another fine piece of storytelling Barry.
Lot of introspection in your tunes, but I guess that is really what
being a singer/songwriter is all about.
Really like the ambiance on the solo guitar, very nice.
(my way of asking: what verb and delay are you using?)

?

tom

I'm know wearing this out; but it only takes a minute to jump over to SoundCloud, put a "like" and maybe drop a comment.
Just sayin'.........

Sonitus Reverb

A "staple" for me at one time; still use Sonitus delay in every project.

Surround

Never used that, I'll check it out.

You were up late last night or early this morning?

I can't call my collaborator in CA before noon; he's still a "night owl"...

Nice track - great job

At 3.28 on my system the bass sounded a bit off - but this could be   what I am listening on - pretty small monitors

Nigel

Actually, not an error. The Am goes to an AmMa7, I wanted to echo that with the bass. You can hear the same thing at 1:28.  Good ear, though!

Late last night. I have to work at the kitchen table, around my family's schedule.

Barry,  Beautiful song and well performed but most of all I admire the heartfelt honesty in the lyrics.

I understand how cathartic it is to put your feelings down on paper, in words you can look at. It's even better to put those words in a song which you've done so well here.

Cathartic, yes. A little bit terrifying too, to be honest. But it is what it is. I wrote it, I recorded it, now I gotta put it out there.

Thanks for the kind words.

beautiful guitar tone. Easy to listen to.

Thanks. Stratocaster on the left, fingerpicked Takamine acoustic on the right. Solo was on my cheap Squier Tele, with Fender Vintage Pickups. A surprisingly good axe, after some upgrades and adjustments.
