Didazne
I have a question how can I do sidechain compression for trap and future bass themes
1 Nigel Mackay
Look for it in the Tutorials section and on YouTube. Too involved for writing down. And the genre is irrelevant, the method is the same, only settings change, and you play until you like the result. "If it sounds right it is right."

0 scook
The bundled Sonitus Compressor and Gate also have sidechain inputs.
0 Didazne
That does not help me because I can not use any internal vst of cakewalk since when installing the DAW it seems to me an error when registering Dll and if I already tried the solution of visual c and another 10 more and nothing else works. Is there another way?
0 scook
All plug-ins with an external size chain input work the same way in CbB

0 Promidi
Make sure you are on the latest version of Cakewalk by Bandlab (2020.4 Build 179). This comes with a Prochannel compressor called PC4K-S which supports side chaining. If your Cakewalk cannot scan VSTs, then you have other systemic issues that need addressing. I tried side chaining with PC4K-S a few days ago and it worked fine here with the latest CbB.

0 scook
Cakewalk by BandLab includes the PC4K-S type bus compressor. See http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Plug-ins.2.html#1765955 It may be worth contacting support to see if they can sort out your install issues.
0 Didazne
ok in fact when installing cakewalk I get an error registering dll, I have tried several solutions and none of them has worked for me
0 scook
PC modules are modified VST2 plug-ins and do not throw the install time dll error. While many seem to find a solution to the DX install issue on the forum, contacting support is always an option.
0 Promidi
One thing to try is to update your Vdist runtimes. Available here: See: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

0 Haydn Sass
So, i can't use any plugin for sidechain correct? I tried to use wave plugins but I was unsuccessful, including the "c1-comp-sc" and it only worked with the sonar natives.
0 scook
Not all plug-ins support a sidechain input. In order to use Waves plug-ins that have sidechain support in CbB the VST3 format must be used.
