dB Twelve Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Hi there Bandlab recognizes my midi device (emu xboard 25) under list of devices, but I cannot get it to play a VST. What am I doing wrong here? My OS is Windows 10. Thanks
Bapu Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Typically a screen shot of the track view (mostly the left side of the project) will help reveal how you inserted/created the VSTi track(s). From there is can be determined what your problem might be. Bear in mind there are at least 2 ways to create a VSTi track. How you did it is important to know first.
Chaps Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 The first thing to check would to make sure Input Echo is enabled on the track your vsti is on.
dB Twelve Posted May 5, 2020 Author Posted May 5, 2020 Hello thanks for the reply. I went to the insert drop down menu and grabbed a VST from there and the vst track loads up.
Promidi Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 What have you tried so far? More information needed. As Bapu mentioned , a screen shot, including the MIDI and Audio track inspector, would help us to work out what's going on. There are a million thing that can cause this.
John Vere Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 Insert a vst instrument in the track inspector there is a box "i" for input select the keyboard and omni. Make sure input echo is highlighted. Make sure the VST is outputing to your master buss. You can check most VST's using the GUI to preview the sounds. Example SI Bass pluck a string. SI drums hit a drum. In my signature is a link to a few tutorials on using midi.
dB Twelve Posted May 6, 2020 Author Posted May 6, 2020 Thanks for all the replies. Haven't been able to see if any of the suggestions work because my midi device driver has stopped working.
scook Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 Is the device in Control Surfaces? If so, all the MIDI data may be going there instead of to the tracks.
