Hi - this is my first visit after finally having downloaded CbB (although have been a Cakewalk user since Cakewalk Apprentice).

Am using a Dell Inspiron All in One PC.

i7 10th Gen

16gb Ram

First time I have used the PC. I open Cakewalk and click on the Demos. They take maybe a minute to load (an age it seems). When I click play I get an immediate dropout code (0). The mouse pointer then goes into a spin and i have to close Cakewalk down .

I am presently relying on the PCs internal sound (although I will be plugging in a Focusrite Scarlett when all is well).

I have nothing to go off from this so would appreciate any assistance especially if anyone has had the same experience.

Thank you in advance.

Further to the above I also tried to load a drums sample from the library and after taking maybe 10-20 seconds to load the dropout occurred before I clicked 'play'

If this is the RealTek ASIO driver do not use it. Use another driver mode.

Thanks again - but the Asio driver should be fine for the Focusrite Scarlett?

Yes

I do not have a Focusrite device but there are many here that do.

If you have problems with  it, I am sure someone here can help.

I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 2nd gen. Asio is the way to go with this interface.

Make sure you have their latest drivers which were update a couple of months ago.
