Vernon Barnes Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 I have been in the creative doldrums, even before lock-down began, so I was pleased when this piece came together. Hopefully I can divert my attentions to my main project now. 3
DeeringAmps Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 I'm liking that bass! A little more "grind" on that B3 and we'd be in Jon Lord territory! Oh yeah, now I'm getting a "Purple" vibe here for sure! You've covered a lot ground in three minutes; my kinda track! Big Thumbs from me.... tom
bjornpdx Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 This would make a really good soundtrack. I like the back and forth between the violin (?) and organ. Thanks for posting.
Douglas Kirby Posted April 21, 2020 Posted April 21, 2020 That was a wild ride - I enjoyed the listen. Made me think a bit of Deep Purple, I guess because of the organ. Excellent mix.
Starise Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Nice creation there. I am glad that your back to doing something creative.
PhonoBrainer Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 Really cool to hear that time signature, and of course what you are doing with it! Very inventive, I like the different colors of the instruments and how they all have their little spotlight moments . . . Mix-wise, it tilts for me a little much toward the bass/low end. I'd vote for a nifty low mid dip around 250hz with a narrow q even a db or 2. I think you need a little more air up there, and there's lots of ways to get it, but sometimes backing off in the mud zone lets the higher ups breathe. Might be worth a try. My headphones are decent but I feel like the bass balance would have fair walloped my earbuds. Did you listen to your mix on headphones? Probably so, most people do, I wonder if it's worth playing with . . . my .02 kroners. great piece! cheers, -Tom
