JL
This was probably been mentioned in the old forums, but it will be really cool to have Visual Clip Gain, where the waveforms of the clip increases/decreases based on the amount of gain applied to the clips. This will really help with editing stuff like ghost notes for drums and stuff. 9
chris.r
+1000 I'm sure you mean the waveform change will happen in realtime as we move the clip gain. Oh yes, that would be a huuuge step forward in the workflow!

backwoods
+1. I hope Cakewalk works on this. As it stands the current method reminds me of how fade ins/outs used to be-- the waveform didn't alter visually dynamically. But they fixed that and I hope they do the same for clip gain!
Kamikaze
So far is +1000,0001001 That escalated quickly! Make that 100,000,1002 Somehow I feel this is on their to do list

chris.r
how cool is that for quick eye-based signal leveling by just selecting a portion of waveform and ctrl+drag the clip gain to create 2 new nodes and visually level audio of that portion in one smart move, isn't it

Francoteves
I add myself to this. It's so frustating when you are trying to match the levels doing it through Apply Effect > Gain everytime.
Tom B
Another vote to add Visual Clip Gain as described in the above posts (i.e. visual gain applies to the entire clip). In addition, it would be nice to enhance the existing 'Apply Effect > Gain' with some real-time visual feedback. The "Process > Gain" is useful since it doesn't require splitting the audio into clips. For example: when leveling wayward vocal dynamics, splitting into many small clips can become cumbersome. Perhaps there's a way to combine both 'visual clip gain' and gain on a selected area of the audio. Although, this could be confusing and it's probably better to keep the two features separate. Edited February 25, 2019 by Tom B Clarify: Suggesting two separate enhancements.

That's clip fades which already visually affect audio in CbB. Drag the fade handles on the left or right edge of the clip and it will affect the waveform. I think the request is for visual clip gain envelopes which is different from the picture.

Dear Noel, in the animation the clip gain is moved too (after the fades). That's the feature I've tried to show. But anyway, I'm glad you are in this thread paying attention the clip gain request. Thanks!?
chris.r
I think the clip gain handle there is the blue one in the middle.
Noel Borthwick
Yeah I see that however CbB has arbitrary clip automation envelopes, not a static gainstage like there. My point is its somewhat harder to apply to the waveform. If it was a simple gainstage we'd have done it a long time ago. 1
